What will you feel if you eat in a restaurant that looks like a toilet? Will you still crave for food that is placed in a plate that looks like a toilet bowl?
I stumbled upon an article showing pictures of a toilet themed restaurant and I can't stop myself saying, "eooowww"! I don't know what the owner thought when he started this type of restaurant but I was surprised to know that the restaurant is a hit with the customers. Well, their customers might have a strong appetite, I guess!
The owner, Wang Zi-wei, an ex-banker, got the idea from a
Japanese robot cartoon character Jichiwawa, who loves to play poop and swirl it on a stick. Wang began selling ice cream swirls on paper squat toilets and the customers loved them and asked for more tasty excretion experiences, so he started his restaurant he called Modern Toilet in 2004. This restaurant can be found in Taipei, Taiwan and is expanding to other parts of Asia.The tables are made of glass with a sink or bathtub underneath. Customers will sit on toilet bowls, that serve as chairs in the restaurant. In place of napkins, you will see rolls
of toilet paper on the tables. In some cases, the tables are next to, or inside, a shower.The food is served in a hot toilet bowl with a little fake poop on one side. The drinks are being placed in a urinal-like glass with lots of ice. The popular meals here are different kinds of Shabu Shabu, served with a side of vegetables, soup, and rice. Customers love chocolate ice cream that looks very much like poop. They say they like it because it looks very much like the real thing, oh my!
Their ice creams look like poops! Customers say they are after the experience and fun when they eat these ice creams, they do not think of them as poop but just the normal irresistible ice creams.
I think no matter how delicious or tempting the food is, but when served in toilet-bowl-like bowls, I wont have the eagerness to eat,haha!
